HAPPY THANXGIVING, YOU GUYS.
I fucking love this holiday. I just baked two amazingly perfect pies - I took pains to ensure that the crusts wouldn't burn, even. I put foil around the edges after 15 minutes and checked on them repeatedly. Granted, I used those Pillsbury roll-out crusts, but they actually come out better than the millions of from-scratch pie crusts I've made. Mom and I used to have a hell of a time with our recipe - it always came out sour, for some reason.
Anyway, my pies are just lovely, all golden-brown and smelling delicious. They are apple and pumpkin. Om nom nom! Smeg and I went to the grocery store tonight for sparkling grape juice and sweet potatoes. I was just going to get canned yams, but she gave me a look of utter horror and said, "Fresh, dude!" So we got real ones and I guess we'll figure out how to make them tomorrow.
Oh, and Smeg also cut my hair (just a few inches - it's unnoticeable to the rest of the world, as it still qualifies for Long status) and I dyed it 'chocolate caramel,' but it's just vaguely darker than usual. I mean, it's shiny and nice, just not DRAMATICALLY BROWN, which was what I was aiming for. I don't think my hair really takes to dye. Or else I get shades that aren't intense enough. Who knows? Anyway, it's a little nicer looking than before.
Johnny Marr is still awesome. I have been digging Electronic lately. A lot. "Make It Happen," "Haze," "Idiot Country," "Getting Away With It," and "Reality" are all fantastic songs! They are so good. And the Healers are good, of course. I actually thought about listening to The Smiths a week or two ago and I realized my infatuation with him must be getting pretty serious. So far I've resisted it. Yes, I am, in fact, a douche. But a douche with certain standards.
Emma (mekare_enra) keeps posting amusing surveys and I don't know where she's getting them, but here's one that you have to give me questions for before I can do it and I like being lazy. They're going to be boring because I have no experience with anything at all, but we can try.
