“I loved you, Much.” Eve stood in the doorway, her dirty-blond hair swept back by summer’s soft breeze.
Robin had his back to them. He couldn’t bear to see the look on Much’s face and the tears spilling across Eve’s cheeks. He’d won, but he didn’t feel like a winner. He had Much’s heart. Always would. Robin would take care of him, always be there for him. Just like Much had been there for him every day in the Holy Land, every day since Marian died.
Hearts might be broken but surely Much could see he was a winner, too.
