Today looks like an art day...

I am having so much fun with this today that I had to share it again. I posted earlier on MyArtistDate because I usually post there after the first drawing session of the day, be it short or long, but I kept going after that post. And rather than saturate that community with multiple daily posts, I figured I'd do that right here on my regular LJ!

Still no progress on NaNoWriMo because I've been sidetracked by getting so close to being finished with Portrait with Lorikeet and Frangipani. SFFmuse member HeraldoftheAbyss, my son in law, helped me choose mat colors for a double mat for the portrait this morning when I showed him the previous progress -- flowers, foreground leaves and the flat background layer of seven mixed light colors and a colorless blender burnishing.

I didn't realize how much even having some leaves done would help make this whole piece look better. It's coming out great, I'm horribly proud, and think it's going to become one of the super-pieces that get posted at the top of my DeviantART journal.

Duh, with no music on, of course I'm in Art Mode. Novels need their sound track!
