Leaves are going slowly...

And I'm getting more blocked on writing my novel now that I'm approaching finished with Portrait with Lorikeet and Frangipani. For a break, I decided to do another small artwork for LilCrabbyGal as a Yule present and just to sort of make up for the monstrous delay of the whole thing. She posted a lot of gorgeous sulphur-crested cockatoo references and I love doing birds, while ACEO size art is something I finish quickly. So I might take a break from doing leaves to pop that off since it's going in the same package.

I had to post progress again, I've been at this almost four hours this morning and done three leaves and some little bits. The last day of the art-marathoning, if I can get it going!

Some moments I get so frustrated and bored working on layer after layer on a leaf, tired of doing green, but then I get one layer farther and it looks good and makes the whole thing look good and then I want to keep going on it. I think these other ideas like an ACEO cockatoo for her or a miniature hermit crab drawing in the Prismacolor Premier Fineliner brown or sepia pen with very fine penwork shading are distracting me.

So I'll do those too after I'm done and in the chapter breaks. It's not like I won't have time to do everything this month.
