"If I'm lucky the swelling might go down by next month," Neville grumbled. He'd given up on trying to help cut the bread but apparently he couldn't make the right wrist movement for the cheese slicing spell either. "The next time I decide to take a new client's word for what they have in their garden, remind me of what happens when what you've been told are perfectly ordinary geraniums turn out to have fangs, will you?" His wand hand was still swollen to twice its normal size even after a trip to St. Mungo's on Tuesday.
"Master Gurdin can't look at my hand without sniggering," Neville laughed. "I'm not complaining though, at least it's got him to lighten up. He even told me about a fanged geranium that caught his toe a few years back." He worked on pouring their drinks instead. Bread, cheese and fruit made for a nice late summer meal even if it was cool and rainy today. It also had benefit of not requiring he use a knife and fork.
