Angelina popped a sweet into her mouth and gave Carmilla a thumbs up.
"These are excellent," she said after she swallowed. "I think these will definitely be a big hit at Valentine's. And afterward, too, of course."
"Why don't you work the counter for another half hour and then take your break," Carmilla said. "You work too much."
Angelina grinned. "So, do you want to be the pot or the kettle?" They both laughed, and Angelina returned to the front of the store and wiped down the countertop. The store had been busy all morning, but that was a good thing. Shoppers were gearing up for Valentine's, and the shop's decorations reflected the enthusiasm.
Red and white paper hearts fluttered around the ceiling (thanks to one of Angelina's charms), and the glass cases were full of sweets especially created for the holiday along with their regular sweets. The normally black and white checkered floor was now red and white, and it made Angelina smile as she looked at it.
