Characters: Draco Malfoy, Lucius Malfoy
Location: Malfoy Manor
Status: Private
Summary: Draco visits his father
Completion: Incomplete
Draco brushed down his robes one last time, and eyed himself critically in the mirror. He wasn't sure he'd ever feel as though he were ready for the critical eye of his father, and yet he apparated none the less, determining that getting on with it would be better for his nerves in the long run.
Malfoy Manor stood above him; mocking in the thin winter sunlight, an echo of the glory in which it would be portrayed when summer returned and the flowers bloomed. The leaves had all been swept from the trees, leaving them bare like skeleton hands clawing at the sky.
It was an illusion. The dead things were undoubtably alive. In time they'd flourish again; they just needed the sun to return.
He used the walk towards the house to make him feel better, climbed the stone steps and pushed open the door. He expected to find his father in the library, sitting beside a fire and reading, so that was where he headed intially, pushing open the huge doors and stepping inside. A spell on the house closed them behind him, so as to keep the warmth in from the fire.
"Father? Are you here?"
