"Never late," he told him, "As I've been taught." He moved over to the french doors and looked out into the black garden, sighing. This was going to be an interesting conversation. He wasn't looking forward to it in the slightest.

It was uncomfortable, waiting for his father, feeling like a child, or a guest. One of the two, and he wasn't sure which. It felt strange... He sighed, folding his arms, and dropped his head against the cold window, letting the chill sink into his skin to revitalise him.

Lucius joined his son at the doors. "It's beautiful, isn't it? Without the Dark Lord destroying everything in his path, the grounds have begun to restore themselves."

He moved over to one of the chairs and sat, then pulled off his glasses and set them on the table beside him. "So, how are you doing? Life in Hogsmeade is... good these days?"

"It is barren, as things always appear in winter. Cold and underwhelming. The death of the flowers is something I find necessary, but lacking in beauty, and so I cannot share your optimism." He glanced towards his father, briefly, then moved away, sitting down opposite him.

"Life in Hogsmeade is comfortable, but I long to return home. Not yet is my taste of freedom so tainted as to bring me home yet, however. I wish to finish my studies." He looked down, studying his hands.

"You're looking well," he said, after a moment.
