Fortunately, tracking down Leonard and Jimmy's parents was easy. They were already standing near each other in a patient little group.

"Hi," Tina said, approaching them. "Some of you don't know me, I think. I'm Tina Chapel, the head nurse here. The captain - Jim - was feeling anxious about coming to sickbay, and I said I'd send someone from his family to the transporter room to get him. I think it had better be you, Mrs. Kirk, since I doubt he'll recognize anyone else."

She turned to the McCoys. "And Leonard volunteered to stay with him so he wouldn't be scared. So if you two want to go retrieve him, that would be excellent."

"Of course, I'll head down there now." Winona nodded, slowly taking the information in. "Thank you Tina"

She then walked out of the room to go retrieve her youngest son.

Pasha stared around sickbay with wide eyes. It was just all so shiny, so many things that could be touched by little finger and if she had her way many things that would be touched by little fingers. She stood by the edge of a biobed and watched what was going on around her. Everyone’s Mama’s and Papa’s seemed to be appearing to collect them, did that mean that Mama and Babushka were coming to find her?

Pasha curled her index finger in her mouth and bit down lightly, a comfort technique, that place looked safe enough but it wasn’t home and it had the same sterile hospital smell that all medical bays did.

The little girl bobbed her head, she hadn’t really understood where they were going or why, but was that hopefully Mama would appear soon and everything would be alright. Her mind reeled as Tina spoke to her in standard, this was going to give her a headache. Chek-up? Or did the lady mean Chekov? “Nyet, Pasha Chekov. Not Chekup.”

Jules sat on the biobed, as he'd been told. He kicked his feet idly, looking around at the other kids. The ones he'd been talking to had been separated--the boy was talking to some grownups, and the girl with the bouncy hair was with one of the pretty blonde ladies--it might have been Tina. Jules thought hard. Pasha was the girl with the bouncy hair, he remembered, who talked like his maths teacher. He couldn't remember the boy's name.

Christine had only seen Dr. Bashir in passing since his arrival onboard the Enterprise, and she may not have recognized him in the boy before her except by process of elimination, now that she'd met a few of the children.

"Hello, Julian," she said, smiling at him as she approached, Ephram and Riley trailing along behind. "I'm Christine."

When they all got to sickbay one of the nurses showed him where to go, and Chris climbed up and sat crosslegged on the end of the bed, looking around at all the doctors and nurses and the other kids who were getting examined. He didn't like the doctor's office very much, but this place didn't look at all like the doctor's he usually went to, and it was enough to make him interested instead of frightened.

George spotted Chris easily, and walked over to him. So weird, his kid was a kid and so was his lover. Obviously he'd be taking care of Chris for however long this lasted, so he'd better go make sure Chris was okay now.

Chris had been staring at the blinking lights and wavy lines above the bed across from his, so he was startled when someone said hello to him. It was an unfamiliar man with friendly blue eyes and blond hair. A lot of the nurses...well, like four of them...had blond hair. Maybe he was one, too, then. Or maybe a doctor.

"Hello," Chris said warily. "How do you know my name? Are you a nurse?"

Ephram only got separated from the rest of the group because he was trying to be helpful and find the way on his own. Eventually he did find himself seate don a biobed, swinging his legs over the edge and waiting for what came next. An exam, probably. Medical people liked to do a lot of those.

"Hello there," Christine said cheerfully to the blond boy seated on a biobed. He seemed pretty relaxed about being in sickbay, which was something of a relief. Hopefully his exam would go smoothly.

"I'm Christine," she introduced herself. "What's your name?" She was trying to remember the names that Commander Spock had mentioned in his message, and match the boy up with one of them, but she couldn't quite make the connection.

"I'm Ephram." He was fairly comfortable in medial settings, since in his experience the doctors and nurses were nice and did a good job. "You haveta exam me, right?"
