No "Wonder Woman" - other Upfronts/TV ramblings

So it looks like NBC won't be picking up "Wonder Woman" - which really is too bad. They could've just had Kelly as the lead EP and then hired Brian and Kelly to handle the series and retool it. But oh well. It also looks like they passed on "17th Precinct" which I was really rooting for - by the guys who did BSG, probably too smart for NBC. On the plus side it looks like "Chuck" might be getting a 13 ep renewal.

Also looks like "Hellcats" is DOA - so Tom is doubly unemployed. "Nikita" looks like it'll get renewed and Thomas Dekker will be back on TV w/ "Secret Circle." I hope that they pair Nikita w/ Supernatural on Fridays - I think that'll be a slamming night of TV.

Fox - I can care less what they're doing. I belong in the "not going to bother watching any sci-fi programming that they offer" corner. "Terra Nova" looks over done.

I got to see sneaks of the first 2 episodes of TNT's Speilberg series "Falling Skies" that starts 6/19 on TNT - it's got serious potential. By the third hour you're really invested in the characters. I've got conference calls w/ Noah Wiley and Moon Bloodgood tomorrow - should be good.

What else?

Course "Smallville" ends on Friday. I'm sad, but really it's time for the series to be over. I can't wait to see Tom trying different roles. Cassidy Freeman already landed herself a new pilot which I believe will be heading to A&E for consideration. Awesome cast - her, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Katie Sackhoff.

"SGU" is also over. That in many ways is a bigger shame than "Smallville." I had MANY problems w/ SGU when it started last year and the producers worked really hard in season 2 to correct a lot of their blunders in storytelling. By the end of the second season I was fully back and ready to root for the team. The "Stargate" franchise as a whole is now DOA - no movies, nada.

I'm loving "Game of Thrones." I know that when the season is over I'm going to devour the novels. Summer is coming - that means new lighter TV - "Rizzoli and Isles" "White Collar" "Burn Notice" "Covert Affairs" "True Blood" and "Haven."

Overall so far I'm not overly interested in any of the new TV offerings for Fall - so my collection of shows to watch are shrinking - that'll give me time to start working on my own novels.
