Summary: It was his first plane ride.
The plane circled Chicago and finally landed at Midway airport where Fran Morgan was waiting to meet Derek and Savannah along with their son, Hank. It was Hank’s first plane trip to meet his grandmother and the rest of Derek’s extended family.
Later
Savannah looked around the room counting people as Hank was passed from one person to another. He giggled and laughed, a very happy child.
Savannah walked over to Derek, “Is that right? I stopped counting at 40.”
“Actually, there are over 60 people here. Some of them are related by blood and the rest by friendship as well as love.”
She sighed, “So technically I am related to all of them?”
He kissed her forehead, “Yes so Hank has a tribe that loves him, will nurture him and help him grow into an amazing person just like they did for me.”
