Summary: It was a treat.

Gusty winds made the palm trees dance in cooler weather than last week’s heat. The Montecito’s waterfall sent sprays across the walkway causing people to scurry to avoid getting drenched. A poster in the lobby read: Welcome to the Las Vegas Jewelry Convention. Deline walked past the poster and headed up to her office. “Morning Miss Fletcher. Anything I should know about?”

“Mister McCoy said to remind you about lunch at Chartreuse at one and to take the afternoon off.”

I wonder what Danny has planned. “Miss Fletcher, remind me at noon about lunch so I can be there on time.”

Noon

Her phone buzzed. She picked it up, “Thanks. See you tomorrow.” Out the door and to the elevator which she rode the lobby. She sat people watching until Danny walked by so she followed him.

After lunch

“That was delicious so now what Danny?”

“A new booth at the convention which I think you’ll like so follow me.” He led the way to a booth. The sign read Stacking Rings. “So how does this work?”

A woman smiled from behind the table: “You can pick gold, white gold or rose gold rings that stack together.”

She pointed to several trays of thin rings. “What would you like to try?”

Delinda smiled, “Recommendation please.”

“How many rings?”

“Five please.”

Her hands danced and then, “Two white gold, two rose gold and one gold,” as she placed the rings on black velvet. “You can arrange them anyway you want so enjoy.”

Delinda took them and slid one rose gold then one white gold followed by gold and then white gold with rose gold on top. “What do you think honey?”

“I like it.” He took out his credit card, “How much please?”

“800 dollars plus tax so  843 dollars and 27 cents.” She ran the card and then, “Here’s your receipt and card.”

Danny slipped both into his wallet. “Come on princess, there is lots more to do.”
