After gaining a few yards into the jungle, Bridget smiled slightly. One hand slid her shoes off and set them neatly under a fallen trunk to protect them from getting damp in case she didn't make it back before the sun rose or it rained. The other held the sword she'd picked up soon after arrival. Then Bridget's eyes narrowed. Did Darkrai think she was a weak human or something? Tch. She really wanted to fight him when they had their powers back, and maybe dissect him to examine that creature's physiology. To nonchalantly wander around a strange jungle on his own without any plans or backup? Almost no powers? And he thought SHE was the stupid one ( ... )

He was not stupid.

He knew how weak he was but as always his pride got the better of him. Furthermore, there was the leftover impatience from back in his world that just got his pulses running (and damn it, he was THIS close to engulfing that stupid Palkia).

And what happened? He went to the jungle and had the shit beaten out of him by some earth animals, no less.

As if his pride wasn't wounded already.

The moon was not full, only releasing a few beams of borrowed light. Only a portion of his body was basked in the moonlight. He wondered if she could even see him.

He did wonder why she was going out of her way to supposedly SAVE him. Tch. Like he needed saving. (And that was his pride talking). Humans were really weird.

He, Darkrai, was used to being alone. Being chased and labeled as the enemy for his purpose. Being HELPED, by a human, nonetheless, was foreign to him.

Thankfully for Bridget, she didn't need to see him, she just needed to find a few mildly injured wildcats. And find them she did, just as they were starting to regroup and start prowling around the edges of a small clearing. Bridget's arrival in a swirl of black skirts and pale hair made the feline predators pause.

Darkrai wondered, surely those wildcats were not probably so much far off from his current location. Then, that meant...

Sure enough, beyond the trees a little farther from him, he saw her.

Oh, great. She won the bet. That she was going to get to the jungle by herself.

Bridget cast her senses out through the immediate area with the intent of merely feeling the presence of other minds. Alright, there were a few more than she had bargained for, but not enough to actually consider withdrawing. The dhampire figured that the worst case scenario would see her losing the use of a limb or two for a month or two, but that was within acceptable levels. At best, she would only have to wound a few of them before getting her point across.

One pair of eyes stepped out of the leafy cover, and another joined as Bridget drew her sword slowly but smoothly. The two, probably a pair of youngsters testing their luck, sized the humanoid up with low growls.

Darkrai wondered if she would survive the incoming onslaught. He recognized those two particular animals. They were quite young but a bit careless and attack more with instinct than with strategy.

He hated that.

Still, he thought this an opportunity to see her abilities.

It was quite easy to tell that the two weren't used to working together. They probably had only called a truce in order to bring down Darkrai, silly animals. Bridget didn't relax though since they were still rather formidable. Instead, she smiled in a way that bared her teeth. Send these two packing and it was likely that the others would find something more interesting to chase.

"Come then, let me teach you some manners," She murmured. The sound of her voice made one of the two hesitate just a little bit, which made their lunges less in synch. Bridget was able to swat them both that way with the flat of her blade, managing to catch one on the leg and the other right on the nose.
