WHO: Raine [wisehealer] and Magda [songinherheart] WHAT: A clinical check-up and meeting to be done after some beautiful singing. WHERE: Bardo's. WHEN: Evening, after this.
Magda sat in the back room, humming through her final piece for the night. That healer she'd spoken to, Raine Sage, would be out there in the audience tonight. She had been excited to learn that there was someone who might be able to help her with her health. At the same time, she was still inclined to skepticism. After having struggled with her health for so long, she found it hard to believe in there being a "cure", and even though she was excited at the prospect of there being someone who could help, she tried not to get her hopes up.
She brushed her hair out of her eyes, and checked herself in the mirror one more time. She adjusted her necklaces and straightened her clothes, mentally preparing herself for another performance. She knew she would be alright once she started singing. It was preparing to step out onstage that she hated. She took a deep breath, and went out

Raine turned to the stage when people began to quiet down, and started to make out the features of the person standing there as more light fell onto her.
As the woman-- for it was a woman-- began to sing, Raine realized that it was Magda up there, singing just as she had said she would.
Raine had never considered herself an avid lover of music, but the singing sounded nice with some refreshingly positive lyrics. When the song finished, she clapped along with the rest of the patrons while keeping a close watch on Madga. When she moved toward the bar, Raine walked over to her.
"Magda, hello." It was a little hard to make her way through while carrying a staff, but Raine managed. "I don't know much about music, but that sounded delightful. Will you be singing anymore tonight?"
Magda took a sip of her drink and did a quick once-over of Raine when the woman approached her. She was shorter than Magda, and quite small. She looked rather young, and she was carrying a large staff. The overall impression Magda got was of someone young but studious, a generally a nice person. She was a little relieved - she would have hated it if she'd found someone who could finally help her with this illness and it turned out to be someone she couldn't stand.
"Thank you," she said, smiling politely, "No, that was my last piece for the night. We can leave now, if you'd like. It'll only take a couple minutes to get to my house."
She didn't usually let a lot of people into her home, but then, she didn't tell most people about her health conditions either. The general feeling she got from Raine was that she was trustworthy, though, and she would really be more comfortable discussing this in private.
"All right." Raine smiled. "I have everything I need." She had to crane her neck up a bit to see, but Magda seemed nice enough, just as she had while writing in the journals. It would have been depressing for Raine to have gone out of her way for nothing-- it would have been another little whisper in her heart about how trust didn't mean much-- but she knew better than that. And even if Magda had turned out to be lying for some strange reason, Raine knew that she would still jump at the same ruse again and again if it meant helping even one more person with their suffering.
Still, Raine wondered about the patient. If the patient was elderly, the spells might only prolong the torture. But, perhaps, if she used only a small dose of Recover and First Aid, at least the pain would disappear. Otherwise, any healing spell would help.
Weekly check-ups would interfere with her rounds, but Raine thought Dr. Romero would understand. She would just have to change shifts.
Magda nodded, put her drink down and tossed a coin to the bartender, winking as she did. Without saying another word, she led the way out of the bar. Being taller, and, she suspected, more aggressive, it would be easier for Raine to follow her.
The night was warm and humid, but Magda was used to it. Although it was dark, there were still people out on the streets. Magda put her hand over the knife she kept concealed under her clothes. She doubted than anyone would attack them when there were still this many people around, but she preferred to be cautious.
As she had said, it was only a few minutes' walk to her house. She unlocked the door and went in, quickly glancing at the state of the parlor. She had straightened things a little before she left for work, but her house could never be called tidy. She quickly cleared off one of the sofas before turning back to address Raine. "Make yourself at home. Is there anything I can get you? Food? Drinks?"
