still no work
Yesterday TXU promised we would have power back by the end of the day (meaning 12:00 midnight) so the PTB asked us to come in at 6:00 am or as soon after that that we could. I showed up at 6:30 am to still no power. Minor Mayhem was happening around me and I was asked to stay until 8:00 am for a decision to be made. Several of us cleaned out the two refrigerators to pass the time. I started knitting on an intarsia 4th of July lamb kit that has been sitting in my stash. At 8:10ish I was told to go home and call the branch manager at noon to get the next set of instructions. If there is power, I will go to work. If no power, I will be in charge of driving by several times this afternoon to check on the electricity status. I hate feeling in limbo. My boss is working from home and I'm technically on the clock so I could get called at any time to answer questions about orders in process. (not that I'll remember anything, the part of my brain I use for work is on a backup hard drive at the office *g*). Seriously, if I'm not looking at the database with the necessary information, I can't remember shit. Anyway, I wish the power would just come back on so I could start getting caught up.
