Arrrggghhh. If I have to say 'mieu' even one more time... Someone please slap me... Over the internet somehow. And I suddenly have a weird urge to play as a moogle. No! No more kupo!

Mieu was absolutely terrified.
The little cheagle had been mishandled, poked at, and been put in tiny cages by unfriendly humans for the past few weeks now. He didn't know whether he should try burn his captors (but they could get hurt!) or just stay still and cry.
He chose the latter.
"Mieu... I w-wanna go h-home, mieu," he whimpered softly, backing into one of the cramped corners of the metal cage. If only he had tried to reason with the elder about his mistakes, this whole situation wouldn't have happened! He'd still be in the forest, not being kidnapped by some not-very-nice humans!
When the large supply wagon stopped suddenly, Mieu rolled to the other side of his prison and hit his head with a hard 'thump'. "Owww! That hurt, mieu!" Struggling to get to his feet, he noticed a young woman (dressed in a pretty black and red outfit) pushing aside the thick cloth that had been secured at the back of his cage.
"Oh, those nasty men have been treating you roughly, I see," she said quietly, reaching in to unhook the metal bars. "But at least you'll have a home here now, little guy."
"H-Huh?" Mieu hesitantly moved closer to the human, but he could tell that she was going to do him no harm. "W-Where am I, mieu?" All he could see in the background were large, pale structures and many, many humans. A city, perhaps?
The woman smiled gently and carefully pulled the fuzzy cheagle into her arms. "This is the royal city of Baticul, the capital of our kingdom." She hugged him closer to her body as she made her way through the thick crowd. "What's your name, cutie?"
The cheagle perked up his ears at all the new sounds and smells surrounding his little body. It was all so amazing! "Mieu! Mieu!" he chirped happily, not really paying any attention to the human.
"Well, then... 'Mieu' it is," the woman said in response, holding on tightly to the little animal even as she was roughly jostled onto one of the elevators. "Hopefully the young master will take a liking to you..."
As the strange contraption raised the two of them far above the entrance of the city, Mieu thought about his predicament. Maybe he was safe now. Sure, he wanted to go home, but a short vacation wouldn't hurt, right? The cheagle glanced up in surprise at the gigantic castle and pouted when the female turned left and went inside a second, much smaller building. "Welcome to the home of Duke Fabre and-- Oh! M-Master Luke!"
