It was time. There would be no more waiting, no more preparing - that time had passed. Now, there was only time for action, no doubts or regrets.
Tear stood in the dark portal room of the Yulia Road, the only light coming from the center runes that connected Yulia City to the Outer Lands - and more specifically, Aramis Springs in Daath. The young seventh fonist stood at attention, ever the soldier with her neutral expression. The glow of the Yulia Road gave the room an almost ephemeral appearance, one that engulfed even Tear as she stood silently. She stared at the light for a good long moment, gathering her thoughts as she steeled herself for the mission ahead of her.
"Van," Tear thought, her expression hardening. It had been years since she followed she had left Yulia City the first time in order to enlist in the Oracle Knights. Even more, it had been two years since she decided to take a stand against her brother - and kill him. The current time was the result of two years of effort, two years of working for Grand Maestro Mohs and cultivating her own plans to counter that of her brothers. While she didn't know precisely what Van's plans entailed, she knew the end result.
The annihilation of the Outer Realms.
She could not, would not let that happen. As Van's little sister, it was her duty to stop him. It wasn't an easy decision to make, one that was painful for her even now. The fact that she was even able to consider such a course of action was no doubt due in large part to her training as a soldier - and particularly to Cantabile. A soldier had no room for softness, only resolution.
And her resolution was strong.
"So, the time has come," Tear repeated, to herself. It was more like a mantra than anything else, meant to seal away whatever feelings she had left and allow her to do her job - she could not fail. "Prepare..."
And with that, the young Locrian Sergeant stepped forward in to the shining light of the Yulia Road. The light engulfed her, consumed her, before she was immediately whisked away from Yulia City only to arrive moments later, surrounded by green foliage and the sound of running water. Tear's boots were damp as she stood in the Outer World entrance of the Yulia Road, the Aramis Spring. Carefully, she stepped out of the water, past the water-slick rocks on to the firm dry land of the spring. Birds chirped around Tear as she glanced around, noting her surroundings for but a moment before hurrying forward.
She needed to go - now. With Daath so close to Aramis Springs, escaping detection was all but impossible. Someone would notice her, and word would reach one of her brother's subordinates - or worse, Van himself. She could not afford to be delayed too long. While she had the pretense of her top secret mission for Grand Maestro Mohs, she would rather avoid any confrontation at all. She did not want her brother to get any prior warning - surprise was of the essence and surely Van would not anticipate her attacking him during his visit to Baticul. There, he was out of his element - and without his God-Generals.
She just needed to get to the port.
