I should have bloody known it. Ethan Rayne. Why does his name keep popping up all over the place - does the man never stop?
No, I guess he doesn't.
Apparently the issue with the controllable werewolf can be traced back to Ethan and a spell he performed for Jordy Osbourne and Sophie Young whilst - or so I understand - they thought they were Romeo and Juliet due to a spell cast on the school play. I am informed that they went to Ethan because Jordy was under the impression he was some kind of 'priest' (though where he got that idea from I haven't the faintest notion as Ethan Rayne must be one of the least priestly-looking characters I've ever had the distinct lack of pleasure to meet). They requested him to perform some kind of 'wedding ceremony' for them - I assume following the dictates of Shakespearian whimsy - which he did in return for a payment of blood form the young werewolf.
At the present time I do not know what spell was performed, neither am I aware of its effects, other than the already witnessed control of the wolf. Despite many hours of research, I cannot find reference to any such spell in my collection.
I do not know either whether the blood payment was part of the ritual or whether Ethan wanted it for some other, possibly nefarious knwing him, purpose.
In does seem that the best way forward at the current time is to leave my books and go out of a little Ethan-hunt. Maybe the weasel himself will be able to supply some answers.
