Well, will wonders never cease - Ethan was true to his word and delivered the papers about the spell to me when he said he would.  It'll be raining frogs next, I almost guarantee it. Though in this town, little surprises me anymore.

I've looked over the spell, cross-referencing it with several others that I obtained - some from my own collection, some on loan from Anya at the Magic Box.  The things I do, I swear that woman wouldn't let me out of the door without giving me a lecture on proper care of books - as if I hadn't been a librarian for years.  Some people...

Anyway, it appears that the spell was anything but a harmless piece of nonsense.  In fact, I believe it to be one of the most effective and all-encomapssing spells I have ever read.  In short, it is a binding spell, meant to act as a joining between two individuals for eternity and at a subconcious level.  There are, of course, various pre-requisites and safe guards.  The spell will only be effective when the parties are truelly in love.  Unfortunately for our pair, that particular prerequisite was more than adequately provided by the former spell which made them believe they were the most famous lovers in history - namely Romeo and Juliet.

I must meet with them as soon as possible.  There are few 'get out' clauses for this particular spell, however should they wish it to be reversed, it is imperative we explore them all thoroughly and immediately.

It has, however, become very clear why it was that Sophie was able to control the wolf.  If my findings are correct, I belive that the subconcious nature of the binding spell has influenced the wolf side of Jordy's nature, making it believe that it is 'mated' to Sophie.  In short, it will not harm her in any way and will, in fact, defend her with its life.  Knowing this, I would hate to see its reaction should anything threaten the girl in the future.
