Let's talk about TV this season and how great it has been.
Gossip Girl:
GG has been CRAZY good so far this season. Everything that was wrong about season 3 has been fixed and they've been so on with the characters and moving the plot along. The Chuck and Blair scene in the second episode was perfection and Leighton's acting just gets better and better. And the newest episode was sooo good. It had a lot of little things about Serena that I thought rang totally true, how she expected everyone to welcome her back with open arms (and legs, let's be honest. Serena knows what's up) and no one did and her loneliness over it. And of course, Vanessa and Dan thought they could raise a baby in their little bohemian hipster lovenest. I did really love their interaction tonight, it made me really root for them for the first time in awhile (which means they'll probably break up in like 2 episodes). But BY FAR the best moment was Blair and Serena TEAMING UP TO TAKE DOWN JULIET, USING GOSSIP GIRL AND DOROTA TO DO IT, AND MOVING IN TOGETHER. :DDDDDDDDDDDD I don't think I've ever shipped them as hard as I do right now. This season is amaaaaazing.
Dexter:
So that premiere was the most depressing hour of fictional television I have ever seen. Rita was always my second favorite character, next to Deb, on the show and I knew it'd be hard to say goodbye to her, but to watch Dexter totally not handle her death reasonably at all was so hard, especially with the flashbacks of their first date. God when he totally flipped out and killed that random dude? SO UPSETTING. Almost as upsetting as him telling Astor and Cody "Sorry for your loss." OH DEXTER NO. But the best part? DEB FUCKING MORGAN. I love Deb so much you guys, SO MUCH. Her being the rock for Dexter, for the very first time, was such a great role reversal. And I love that she needed some random, meaningless sex with Quinn because she's Deb. And I love that she wore pants to Rita's funeral. FUCK ANYONE who thinks Deb needs to dress more feminine. You a n00b to Deb and you should not be watching this show.
I am really interested to see what the arc of this season is going to be. It's obviously going to be incredibly different from the previous 4, but I'm not sure what exactly is going to happen and I'm really intrigued about it.
Glee:
Okay so Heather Morris and Naya Rivera rocked that shit out in the Britney episode (always needs more Brittany/Santana) but then the Baby One More Time cover happened and it was everything that annoyed me most about Glee. Rachel is completely unlikeable in every way and her voice was terrible for that song. But because we must have a goddamn Rachel storyline every week, it was in there. And I just don't get it. Yes, Lea Michele has a great voice, but Amber Riley's is better and Mercedes is way more likable and would have rocked that school girl outfit. I just don't understand how we're supposed to like a show with such a horrible main character. AND I SAY THIS AS SOMEONE WHO LOVES MAD MEN. Don Draper, even with all of his horribleness, still has his sympathetic moments. Like when Anna died, his reaction was completely heartbreaking. Even though he is an absolutely terrible person, you still felt for him in that moment. I never feel that way about Rachel. The closest was when Jesse St. James cracked that egg on her head. I just hate that so much of Glee is about her and Will FUCKING AWFUL Shuster, who I also hate. I just want to watch Brittany and Santana have sexual chemistry and Kurt yell at people and Mercedes be awesome and Puck be a charming asshole. And I'd love for Artie to have a storyline that didn't involve "I want to walk again." as long as I'm wanting things. And for Mike Chang to talk and have, like, a personality. That'd be great.
Undercovers:
AH I LOVE THIS SHOW. It's only been 2 episodes but I have greatly enjoyed both. I love spy shows like how old people love procedurals. Boris Kodjoe and Guga Mbatha-Raw have incredible chemistry and I completely believe them as a married couple (the coffee maker argument? so great). Hoyt is a great combo of nerd and awesome agent and watching Leo get under Sam and Steven's skin is hilarious. And I love that Sam is so badass and feminine and crazy smart. Watching her diffuse that cell phone bomb was super great. Also everyone is totally hot and the fact that all the episodes have ended with CRAZY HOT bedroom scenes is the A++++++.
Community:
Okay, let me just say that I totally called Britta only telling Jeff she loved him in the finale because of her ego and being super competitive with Slater. CALLED IT. Also I'm so glad that's how they went with that storyline and that it seems like the whole little triangle is mostly over with. I think Jeff should be single or date outside the group completely. Also I'm loving Starburns' new hat.
Nikita:
Like I said, I love spy shows and Nikita is awesome. It's totally cliche and Shane West is SO miscast but I DO NOT CARE I LOVE IT. It's all about badass ladies taking down the man! How can you not love that? Also Aaron Stanford is still making me lol as the head tech geek. Oh Pyro. ♥
Also, of course, the Vampire Diaries, Mad Men and Modern Family have been great, too, but that's to be expected.
