chilly fall weekend
Hello livejournal! I've been making icons and being a general lazy bum this weekend. It finally got cold this week and all I want to do is stay in wrapped up in my snuggie.
In bandom news, JON WALKER GOT ENGAGED! :DDDD I can't help but grin like an idiot thinking about it. In my head, Marley will be the ring-bearer and you can't tell me differently. Also Empires has some new merch! I desperately want that grey t-shirt but I already have at least 6 Empires shirts that I can think of and I just don't know if I can justify another one, right now. I like the poster a lot too and it's pretty damn big (20x24) which is nice. Also, according to his twitter, Vegas took all of Ryan J's money and I am the least surprised.
Music-wise, I've mostly been listening to Childish Gambino (still) and all the new Kanye. His newest Good Friday track, "Christian Dior Denim Flow" is scary good. I also love love loved his SNL performances last night. He totally made the set his own (something no one ever does on SNL, mostly because you have to be someone like Kanye to even think about doing it) with all the white sheets and fabric and two dozen dancers surrounding him. They are worth checking out, for sure (as is the Miley Cyrus Show sketch that I really hope becomes a regular skit. The new cast members, especially Vanessa Bayer and Jay Pharoah, are so awesome). I also finally downloaded Brandon Boyd's solo album. Incubus is my favorite band, ever, for reasons that are far too long to go into now, but I had been hesitant about Brandon's solo stuff. I didn't want to hate it and I was afraid I might. But I don't! Some of the songs are forgettable but the songs that are good are excellent and I recommend it to any Incubus fan or anyone who just likes his voice. Oh and the new Kings of Leon album leaked! I like it but it hasn't jumped out to me yet as great, like their previous albums. But it might just take me a few more listens.
