Hair Dump for Diversity

Hey guys, with all the kids in the Laurince and Bork houses needing more options for their hairstyles, I started looking at some of the stuff in my "to retexture" file with a different eye. Yeah, I've already done this sort of thing to a couple of hairs, but I'm going through them all faster than I can make them, it seems. Anyway, I've got a pile of hairs to share with you.

All of these are Sims 3 conversions done by great meshers (Mel/rented-spaces and Trapping), so they are available for all ages. They are here, done my usual way, binned in Pooklet's four natural families, each family with a unique gray attached to the brown recolor. Files have been compressorized, and I've switched over to naming my own files without any spaces, though I always have avoided any other special character. Mesh names are unchanged, though they were named well and properly in the first place, in this case.

Finally, to save repeating myself, unless otherwise noted, the Pooklet textures are v1 and the puffier textures are based on my modified version of Tenshii Akari's texture.

First up, a v1 Pooklet version of this conversion of Mel's. I retextured a couple of hairs my "normal" way, because a) I needed them binned in my game the way I prefer anyway, and b) I fussed with the highlight placements so I could use them as a guide to paint highlights and lowlights on the second version. I kept the barette, as I liked it.

Same hair as above, but with the Tenshii Akari textures. *NOTE! Both of these archives contain the mesh, so if you want both hairs, make sure you're not doubling up on the mesh file!*

Mel's 3t2 Elexis Florence, Pookleted. Again, redone to perfect highlight/lowlight placement.

I liked the idea of a puffier version of this hair, due to the volume and fingerwaves. Tenshii Akari textures, blended slightly with my Pookleted version above. *NOTE! Both of these archives contain the mesh, so if you want both hairs, make sure you're not doubling up on the mesh file!*

Mel's 3t2 Terrific Turban Conversion. This is one of the first two hairs I was like, HAVE TO CHANGE THE TEXTURES on. Each family has a different turban: the main shot is family two, then we've got four, three, and one in the thumbnails. Binned as a hat, too.

Small note here, as you guys know, I usually reduce texture sizes down to 512x512, but the turban suffered when I did this, so they're still at the original scale of 1024x1024 in this hair. It's a bit larger than the other archives, because of this.

Trapping's Mod Twist Daddy-O conversion (what a mouthful!) -- now, the original textures that came with the hair were twist/curls, but they fell a bit flat for me. Altered/handpainted Tenshii Akari textures again, to the rescue!

Another one of the hairs that sort of inspired this set. The mesh is actually for both genders, so they are both in the set. I'm also pretty happy that the beanie mapping allowed for me to make the texture look knit! Binned as a hat, as well.

As I often do, I've got this setup in two varieties: one with the texture files for each gender independent, and one with the male files slaved to the female. If you only one want gender or the other (or you share a lot of sims with custom hairs), I'd opt for the first. If nothing bothers you more than file bloat, pick the second. YOU CAN'T HAVE BOTH (in the same colors, at least).

- Download Slaved

And that's all! Hope you guys enjoy!
