[Rikarin Favorite Artist] #1 ayumi hamasaki ~My Beloved and My Only Queen~
If you ask me who is artist that I love the most in this world and had been a fan of him/her for quite a long time, my answer will be ayumi hamasaki with no doubt. I just love her! LOVE HER SO MUCH! And claim her as my queen as I deeply so much in love with her and all of her works.
I knew ayu from a local radio station’s program called Asian Star. That time I still an elementary school student, more precise on fifth grade. Moment was my first ayu’s song and I was totally hooked by it and hummed the lalalalala~ part every chance I got. Well, a child. Easily love something that not difficult to remember. But beside of it Moment is a song that worthy to check as it is so beautifully ayu-ish and easy to follow.
Then, my first ayu’s album that I bought was A BEST 2 -BLACK-. Because I already knew some of her popular song like Dearest and A Song for xx, I’d love to explore more about her music so I bought that album. Yet it was not really attract me for some beginning tracks especially at the time I listened to HANABI (but now I DEADLY love this song. Why I was such a fool for not liking it and bitching about this song, omg). Not until I listened to Because of You. I was like “OH MY GOD THIS IS SO AMAZING!” followed with About You and then I couldn’t sat down quietly without jumping excitingly on my seat - my habit every time I listen to a cool song - while said “OMG! OMG! OMG! I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOOOOVE IT!” (yeah... I kinda an overreacting girl especially if it is about something that I love).
And the time that the heavenly HEAVEN played, I completely declare my love to ayu.
My fascinated about ayu rose on it’s peak at the time I bought A BALLADS. Omg, all the songs in this album are holy awesome, especially the remix of YOU, TO BE and M (and ayu is so beautiful on the cover and booklets)! Every songs that packed in this album are successfully attracted me and I was played it non-stop everyday.
My top reason why I love her is undoubtfully because of her lyric. I guess almost of all my daily quotes are comes from ayu’s songs or some interview that ayu had done. I mean... how can someone could write such a beautiful, sorrowful, self-introspected, lovely, dark, inspiring, motivating lyric? Her lyrics are made for move people heart. I guess people who’s study Japanese language or else who related with it could make their paper about ayu’s lyric lol (I’d love to make one too and share it with people. But I’m a Law student, have no correlation at all :<).
Then, of course her songs. ayu song’s are different with each other and she often did some experimental thing for her songs that made it more fun to predict what she will bring up on her next album. I guess all the songs that ayu picked was thought carefully and not just simply “Let we use this because we have no other song” or “It’s okay, it just a filling song”. All of her songs have their own souls, I thought.
She absolutely beautiful and have a good fashion sense. It always pleasing seeing her in fashion magazines because I love her style. Especially when she do suppin makeup, look so young like a princess and smile happily. Tho I love her style, it will be impossible to dress in a gown like she likes to do but I always love seeing ayu with her gowns and oh so feminine lacey with ribbon dresses (she’s my queen by the way, and she’ll look more like a total queen with her gowns and dresses). Talking about ayu’s outfit, my favorite will be definitely that black and huge Microphone gown~! Beautiful, elegant but still rockin’~!

1. crossroad
crossroad oh crossroad... how I love this song! It’s so beautiful and hearing ayu’s voice in here is so pleasing. Especially the lyric. It is so wonderfully insightful and could made me froze immobile just to thinking more about things that I never thought before. The refrain is easy to catch up but still not some ordinary rhythm that you had heard from other J-Pop songs.
2. HEAVEN
The song that success convincing me to declare my eternity love toward her. Oh... and I guess tho you’re not her fan, you’ll fall for this heavenly song easily because it just simply irresistible. How the song flow from the beginning till the end in such harmony that unusual, sang beautifully and deeply by ayu that can make you feel the emotion that this song have. Absolutely a gorgeous ballad.
3. Rule
Rockin’ ayu is always LOVE, enough to say. Among all of her rock songs this one is my favorite. It sounded heavy and so ayu-ish. The lyric is sorta rebel and awakening. I love how it sounded so rock but not leaving the Japanese taste behind.
4. HAPPY ENDING
Yeah... it’s weird. But I love HAPPY ENDING. Not a promotional song, not that so memorable song for most of people, but I love it. The reason is because I just found it amusing when a song titled HAPPY ENDING have a very opposite atmosphere through it’s lyric and melody. I mean... it is so DEPRESSED, omg! And I always use it as back song every time I feel so moody or want to be that pathetic melancholic girl crying alone in my bedroom not giving any damn to everyone (okay... not a good example. Don’t try this at home). You will get this dark and cloudy feeling just as dark as the lyric from the song that named as HAPPY ENDING. But I guess you’ll find it so match when you read the lyric thoroughly.
5. BLUE BIRD
Ayu’s summer song! I guess this is most well-known and demanded song from Team Ayu especially Japanese TA (how Japanese love summer song). But more than that, actually I have more reason for loving this song beyond it’s happy, bright and warming feeling that this song has offer. Well... it related with *cough* my first mmm... love? *cough* Soooo... I guess I’m not gonna babbling about that sappy story of mine in this post.
