A week has passed since Shige has been an orphan and he has fallen head over heels for his roommate Hitomi. Her beauty, the way she plays the piano, everything! Plus he has his two best friends on his side, the older brother figure, Koyama, and the bubbly cutie, Ai. Ever since Hitomi asked him to play the guitar along with her piano, she's gotten used to him in an instant. However, Hitomi didn't know that Shige liked her.
It was lunch time and all the orphans were outside in the backyard of the orphanage. Shige and Koyama sat together under a huge, shady tree. Ai wasn't there because her grandmother asked her for help with the paper work. And as for Hitomi, she was on a bench not too far from the boys.
"Hey, Koyama." Shige started off.
"Hm?" Koyama took a sip of his water.
"I think I'm gonna confess my feelings to Hitomi today." Shige blushed with an embarrassed smile.
"Pfbt!" Koyama spit out his water then wiped his mouth with a napkin. "Then you might as well give up on that."
"Why?"
"Well, there was a time I tried but she rejected me with, and quote, 'Sorry. I already have someone I like.'. Same for every single guy in this orphanage that has tried to confessed to her, too. She just replied with those simple seven words. So even if you try, you'll get the same thing like we did."
"But if every guy here already confessed to her, who is the person she likes?"
Koyama shrugged. "Beats me."
From afar, Shige saw a few boys ganging up on Hitomi. One of the boys pushed her from the bench and Shige got angry.
"Hey, you, piano girl! What's with you and that Kato kid?" The first boy said.
"Yeah, how come your only playing the piano for him and not us when we ask you?" Another boy added and kicked Hitomi, who was on the ground, in the sides.
"Stop that! If she doesn't wanna play for you guys, then she doesn't wanna play!" Shige came in along with Koyama from behind.
The boy who kicked Hitomi kicked her again and she winced in pain. "So, you wanna a piece of us?"
"Bring it on!" Shige raised his fists, ready to fight.
"Shigeaki-kun...no..." Hitomi whispered painfully.
The three started to rumble but Shige lost after getting punched in the stomach hardly. The two bullies ran off while Shige fell to the ground unconscious.
"Shige! Oi, Shige!!" Koyama screamed while shaking his unconscious body.
A few hours later, Shige woke up in his room in his bed with Hitomi next to his bed. "Where...am I...?" Shige spoke weakly.
Hitomi began to cry. "I'm sorry, Shigeaki-kun. It's all my fault that your in pain." She sobbed harder.
Shige was confused then remembered. Oh yeah, I got into a fight because those two bastards hurt her... He patted her head. "It's not your fault. It's mine because I got too mad easily. I was just being a jerk."
Hitomi wiped her eyes, bit her lip, and nodded. Shige smiled then got an idea. "Hey, Hitomi, listen to this." He picked up his guitar and started to play an upbeat song, written by himself, to cheer her up.
Till when are you looking for you?

Hitomi giggled and clapped for him. Shige was relieved now that she was smiling again. Shige looked down at his feet and thought about what Koyama said today.
"So even if you try, you'll get the same thing like we did..."
Shige shook his head. I don't care what Koyama says! I really love her! "Hitomi." Shige tried to get her attention.
"Yes?" Hitomi replied.
Shige swallowed the lump blocking his throat. "I...like you. I really like you!"
Hitomi's eyes widened. Tears formed in her eyes and she started to embrace the boy. "Finally...I've been waiting for so long for you to say that, and now you're here again, after ten whole years..."
Shige was completely confused. Eh!? T-Ten years!? But...we've only met a week ago...!
Yet again, cliffhanger! >DDD
