Summary: When Kato Shigeaki moves into an orphanage after becoming homeless, he meets a mysterious girl with an amazing gift that might bring them closer...
Notes: Slightly based on the song "Utsukushisugite Beautiful Eyes" by NEWS. Some of Shige's solos will also be used in the story here and there~ ;D
( Prologue) ( Chapter One)
Before unlocking the door, Shige heard a faint yet soft melody from inside. It was the sound of a piano. When Shige opened the door, he blinked. The pianist was a young girl who was extremely beautiful. She looked about Shige's age. Her skin was like porcelain but fair and her silky, long hair was darker than a raven. Shige gazed at her slender fingers playing the notes and then looked up at her face. She had crystal blue eyes.
Blue eyes? Is she a foreigner...? Shige wondered. The girl finished playing the song and seemed to notice Shige's presence. She gasped and stared at him blankly. Shige thought this was the right time to introduce himself. "Oh, um, hi. I'm Kato Shigeaki. I'll be living in here with you from now on. Nice to meet you." Shige extended his warm hand, waiting to receive a handshake from the girl. But she just kept blankly staring at him. She shook her head slowly.
Shige lowered his hand and stepped into the room a bit more. "Is something wrong?"
The girl closed her eyes tightly, slammed the keys of the piano, and ran out the room.
Was it something I said? Shige thought to himself then smiled. Weird girl... Then, he realized his cheeks started to flame. He ran a palm on his right cheek. My cheeks are burning. Did I just fall in love with her...?
Shige decided to go to Ai's room for more information. Good thing he made a friend the minute he moved in. Shige tapped the door to Room 501. "It's open!" Ai yelled from the inside. Shige opened the door and found her sitting on her bed with another boy beside her. He seemed a little bit older than them but he had slightly messy dirty blonde hair, lightly tanned skin, and almond-colored eyes.
Ai smiled. "Shige-chan! What's up?"
The boy turned to Ai. "'Shige-chan'?"
"Yeah," Shige nodded. "I just moved in, Kato Shigeaki, eighteen years old. But just call me 'Shige' because it's easier that way. Pleasure to meet you."
The boy got off the bed and shook Shige's hand with a smiled. "The pleasure's all mine. I'm Koyama Keiichiro, nineteen years old."
Ai hugged Koyama from behind and nuzzled into him. "Kei-chan's actually my cousin!"
Shige's face turned into an amazed expression. "Really? So, you two live here together?"
"That's right." Koyama replied. "Before living here, I lived with Aibon's parents, in other words, my aunt and uncle, because my mom and dad died in a fatal car crash. But then, her parents were killed in a traffic accident so granny decided to take us in and we live here together, under one roof."
Shige nodded slowly. "I see..."
Ai giggled. "Hey, Shige-chan, play a song for us on your guitar! Pretty please with sugar on top!"
"You play guitar?" Koyama asked Shige.
"Uh-huh," Shige replied. "Hold on a sec. I'll go fetch it."
Shige came back into the room with his guitar and started to play the most recent song he wrote:

Koyama and Ai appluaded for him. "Whoa, you're really good!" Koyama complimented.
Shige laughed and blushed. "T-Thanks." He was kind of embarrassed. It was the first time someone has ever complimented his skill, except for his father. Then Shige remembered why he was here. "Hey, Ai, can I ask you something?"
Ai sat on her bed. Koyama and Shige sat on the other bed across from her. "Is something wrong, Shige-chan?"
Shige bit his lower lip and his face turned slightly red. "It's about the girl living in my room..."
Koyama's face expression turned calm. "Ohh...that girl. Her name's Takikawa Hitomi-chan. What about her?"
"Well, when I first saw her, she gave me this weird stare and dashed out the room. Does she hate guys or something?"
Ai shook her head and had an expression like her cousin's. "It's not like that. She's legally blind."
And...cliffhanger!! >DDD
I thought it'd be fun to write Kei-chan in this story for some Koyashige-ness so, why not? :3
Now he's Aibon's cousin!! ^^
