Velvet Kisses and Sweaty Leather

His name softly spoken from my lips causes his ears to perk and begin his approach. An outstretched hand meets up with the warm velvety touch as I give his face a careful caress. Another kind word or two and he accepts my lead, following side by side toward our destination. The time came to remove his coverings, a massaging eased the little tension in the air but was only the start of what was to come. Eventually, the Swinging of a leg and my weight gently resting down upon his back, I mounted. A little preparation and with one along each side of his well muscled sides, I gave a light squeeze to ease him into the mood. The creaking sound of straining leather and the compliance in direction, we move forward into a slow pace. The warm-up was usual, slow to start working up to a faster pace but by the end, the sweat was beaded upon my brow, a small trace down between my shoulder blades. Finishing up with several straight line thrusts into the air, his legs the takeoff and landing gear, he too began to perspire. Some time was put into cooling down and releasing some of the built-up energy, then the dismount. He got cleaned up and massaged by my kind and reassuring hands, the most rewarding part of the event that the word 'relaxed' just does not shed light upon. Redressed, I took him back to whence he came- worn and ready to retire for the day. I left him with a loving kiss upon the nose, in return he nuzzled my face. Pleased, satisfied, and smelling of sweat and leather, my return home was bittersweet as the memories of what once was of a horseman and his steed faded in pictures resting on a dusty mantle.

~What were you thinking?
Bah hahaha, had an awesome time today on Metro and thought I should share it. My hands do the wandering that I know I shouldn't allow them to do, but my legs feel better this week. Still a bit floppy in the saddle, there is much work to be done before I am back in my prime of riding but I am pleased to have this chance. We got to jump a some more today, a smallish x-rail then a crossed oxar, position is going to be my homework. Timing will have to be played with again, I was use to horses with more power and/or speed so it will need adjustment with these lesson horses.

Just try and wipe the smile off my face today, just try! Though they are simple lessons on a mount that is not mine, just the feel of power and grace under my own body again is bliss and refreshing to the new life I've been adopting.
