I think-- I mean, I'm not sure-- but I think I broke my own brain today. Briefly, mind you. I'm trying to get the next chapter of Double Bluff done, and I've got most of it, but I'm kinda bored with drawing the scene out, so I did what I usually do at that point, which is skip to outlining the rest of it so that I have a clue what I need to actually go back and write, but I don't lose the flow of where I'm going with what I'm writing either just because I'm bored. And then... it ran away from me. Like whoa.
Soooo... OH HAI THAR NEXT BOOK. 3 pages of outline later... somehow, something shifted in my brain (and I was already totally enthusiastic about the next book, but) and I twisted a tiny bit of plot order, and POOF. Now I'm struggling to hold myself back from racing through the end of this story line because I WANT SO MUCH TO GET TO THE NEXT ONE. Ahh... I may have to warn you though, I think next story line has taken a small turn for the more angsty than I originally expected.
This is me though, so it's still all happy endings and not too much death.. and wait a second, I already opened this last story line with a death (does the fact that it's a canon death mean it's less of a bummer? I mean, you already knew it was coming), so perhaps that's an untrue statement? I actually think that means less death in the next story line, since I don't think I'm going to kill anyone -- Oh wait... hrm. Okay, someone has to die. But no one likes him away, so I doubt you'll even notice. Well okay, you will notice, you just won't feel the lack of him around because he's a bad guy. But then, the bad guy always has to die, right? Or something. Besides, the next story line has the return of Gibbs- you all totally expected there to be angst with the return of Gibbs, right? I mean, it wouldn't be Gibbs without some brooding angst.
Annnnyway... hi, brain, why do you seem to be on caffeine? I haven't even HAD any caffeine today. Sigh. TOO MANY IDEAS. And thoughts! And STUFF! I think I should probably go make some earrings before my brain explodes.
tl:dr version: There should be another chapter of Double Bluff up by Monday at the latest.
