They say moving house is one of the three most stressful life events...
It's right up there with bereavement and divorce. Currently going through the process, I have to say I can see why!

There's this website that has practice exam questions (which costs an insane amount, BTW) but on the top in HUGE FRACKING RED LETTERS there's a countdown to the time left for the exam. I only bought it last week, and at first it was mildly annoying but now it making me want to hurt something ( Read more... ) -
Random stuff
- My tummy hurts. That time of the month :( But I've been cramping for THREE DAYS now! Ever since I started the Pill, my cycles have been really irregular and heavy and PAINFUL! I mentioned it to my GP last time I went for a pill check and he just said "that's not likely to be the cause". Which, i can sorta agree with as that's the opposite of ( Read more... )

Oh dear!
I just asked my trainer to see a patient because he had a funny looking rash, which looked a bit like chicken pox and in adults that can be quiet serious.
The first thing he asked: Do you have a cold?
Turns out he has a viral sore throat with a viral rash.
Nope, I don't feel stupid at all.
*goes back to med school* -
FYI
I have changed my mind about the awesomeness of general practice. Which is, really, a bit of a relief. At least now I don't have to change my entire life plans. -

Ohhh but the next patient was a baby with a funny thing in his mouth. so I had to say "I'm not sure what it is, but I don't think it's serious". Still I'll ask (The Trainer) to look and see what he thinks. He said "I'm not sure what it is, but I don't think it's serious". YAY! -
Oops!
I'm in surgery this morning. My normal supervisor has gone off on maternity leave though so this is my forst day with the new one. Since he was new, he asked me to discuss all the patient's with him before making any decisions. (I think he wanted to make sure I wasn't completely incompetent, which is fair enough).
