last night I had the closest I have come to a deliberate OOBE*/astral projection, versus the spontaneous OOBE in childhood and other OOBE's have all happened directly direct from dream to OOBE.

last night I fell into a hypnagogic state, into a lucid dream (it felt seedy and not pleasant, like I told lily_sword about in e-mails) and then into me in bed where ( Read more... )

You shouldn't really cross them at all from a medical point of view because of blood circulation and risking varicose veins etc.

As for astral projection I'm not sure. I suppose they would be crossed in some way of you were in a yoga posture but otherwise, I guess, they wouldn't be if using the positions I've read about. However, I don't really know anything about astral projection, only what I've read in a couple of Dave's books (The Magician His Training and Work by W.E. Butler and The Projection of the Astral body by Muldoon and Carrington). I only looked into these briefly to try and make sense of the out of body experiences I had following surgery. They were unintentional and I'm convinced induced by a choice cocktail of drugs as well as the surgery itself all courtesy of the NHS. Knocked me for six.

If you want me to look for specifics I can email them to you if you like. Although personally I don't think you should be attempting it at all for numerous reasons.
