I was working at the CMOG, Corning Museum of Glass, but I left after a month. My supv. treated like a 6 year-old shouldn't be treated, so I said, "buh bye". She would tell me I can't talk back to her when I was just trying to explain. Not allowed to have my own point of view or get more info. When she told me something, I should remember it forever, especially computer transactions. Fat chance. All the other people had just as much trouble, (very little) but she zoned in on me mostly, but was nasty to others too. Her boss is going to get a very articulate and descriptive letter.
I'm working for the Census for the next couple of months. I'm going out to BFE to get people to fill out the paperwork even though they didn't want to in the first place. There are really some critters out there.
Beverly will be all the way in her house this week. I'm so happy for her.
After 3 years I had found a man who moved me. Well, I moved him on down the line. I got suspicious when he couldn't see me except when his band was playing. I finally asked him outright Saturday if he had someone and he hesitated, so I just said, "I take it that's a yes." So I listened to the music until about midnight, danced with every guy in the room, then walked the walk. It's not complicated, like the movie title. Like Wilfred Brimley used to say," It's the right thing to do."
The Census is 50 cents a mile and $13 an hour. Not bad when I'm already collecting retirement.
Got a tickt for the Sounders/New York Bulls MLS game in New Jersey on the 15th of May. It will be about a 5 hour drive, but it will be worth it. I'll probably drive back about an hour and then find a Motel 6. Scarves up! Get your earplugs, Grandma Terry Box is on the way!
We have a good soccer team in Rochester, the Rhinos and I'm going to go to some of their games. I met a woman at Census training who is a soccer fan, so we're gonna meet up and yell like hell.
Keeping the weight down below 160. Not too hard to give up all the bread and starch, but an occasional small cheat keeps me walking the line. It's never as good tasting as my mind thinks it's going to be. Watching the Biggest Loser inspires me. If people can lose 200 pounds, I can maintain. I'm also buying cheap workout equipment and storing it so that when I do get a house, I'll be all ready to work out from the get go.
I'm actually making friends with dogs. Who'd a thunk it. I give dogs a chance when doing the Census and Susan's dogs like me. The St. Bernard's are my favorites. Never was much of a fan of "drop kick rats", but I'm getting better at tolerating the chihuahuas. The puppies are damn cute.
Anthony sent me a picture of my cat Sherbert. I miss the orange and white dude. I'll get him next trip.
Now that I remember my password and Beverly says she actually reads livejournal, I'll have to get back here more often. The computer here is so slow, like dial up.
