So, yeah, started cleaning the joint. It's been so long that what I did barely made a dent. Then I bit the bullet and made an appointment for a laser hair removal consultation. And then decided to go for it. Heck, my money isn't getting me squat in the bank, we get three paychecks this month, I didn't go on any real vacations, got a good raise this year, haven't seen a house I want to buy, so, yeah, my money will be going to laser hair removal. I'll just be a bit more frugal with things in the near future. Luckily, I did my online shopping yesterday, before I made that vow. ;) I got some stuff from Macy's (made sure I qualified for the free shipping and if I don't like what I am getting, back it goes, no harm-no foul) like a dress I've been watching all summer, a swimsuit that was WAY on sale, and a couple of shirts (one of which I tried on in the store and didn't like the fit, but after reflection, realised I can retailor it for a better fit and the colors of it were just gorgeous). And the polos that I like from Old Navy now come in a Tall size! And they were half off. I got one in every color they had because the ones I have are a few years old and are starting to look it. And none of them were talls so they are getting shorter each time I wash them. So happy! I did accidentally order two of one of the colors, so luckily the store will take returns. I'll return it when I go in for my first lasering appointment next week. It is going to take 6 treatments, 1 every other month, so an entire year. But they also have a 2 year maintenance plan, so if my results aren't optimal, I get "touch ups" for free. I just got sick of the bother and the ingrown hairs, so with any luck, I'll only have a few places to shave from now on.
I'm almost finished with my Halloween costume. I am going to be a gangster. Mostly because I found the fabric for a dollar a yard. I made the little dress and the vest and the collar and tie and I made a pair of little shorts to go under the dress because it is quite short. I bought a hat that I am going to put a band that matches the tie and vest lining and shorts on and all that is left to do is put closures on the vest. The pattern called for a zipper in the back of the vest, but I made it so the front opens and I am going to put those hook-and-eyes that you find on pants and skirts on as the closures. I just need to find a needle. The shoes should be here sometime this week. They look like this:
. Hope they fit!
The town I live in had their Fall Festival this weekend. Well, on Saturday anyway. They don't have a county fair (which is actually surprising considering how rural it is) so they have this festival. It was a parade in the morning and then a craft show and car show at the high school. I went to the craft show and helped my friend sell Tupperware. She really needs to work on her salesmanship. People would be talking to her and her phone would ring and she would answer it and leave them hanging. So rude. I don't care if it was her mother calling. Still rude.
Now the soup I am making needs its last ingredient, so off I go!
