  • Stuff and whatnot

I haven't had much time or inclination to update lately, as most of my updates have been going on the Facebook because it seems like they're better distilled into brief, in-the-moment blurbs. Or maybe I'm just not in a prolonged introspection mood lately. Anyway. For those of you not on FB or who would rather see things in complete paragraph ( Read more... )

  • Weekendy weekendness

    rhiannon76 Jun 20, 2011 16:01

This was a quiet sort of weekend, with a little bit of social, a little bit of housework, a little bit of chilling, and a little bit of social-home-improvement-at-someone-else's-house. Faerieworlds was happening, but I didn't make it, partly due to not wanting to go alone, partly due to tight cash flow at the moment, mostly because I decided I ( Read more... )

I just signed up to perform a solo number at a bellydance event on June 11... lo, my Oregon debut! Also, yikes, I need to remember how that particular solo goes. (It's a fusion event with an emphasis on tango, flamenco, and other Latin fusions with bellydance, so I was planning to do my flamenco-tribal fusion solo to "El Tango de Roxanne." Which ( Read more... )

  • Being the new kid and Birthdays

    rhiannon76 Mar 04, 2011 15:14

The last couple of days have had their ups and downs. Wednesday evening I went out for some beers (well, some pear cider, actually) with several of my coworkers. It was all women, mostly around my age except for one who's been here 30 years, and was my first social outing. We did end up talking shop, but I got my first introduction to office ( Read more... )

  • Weekendy weekendness (part 2) and Moar Dance Stuff

    rhiannon76 Apr 14, 2010 15:26

Sunday continued the busy-ness. We had an extra early DST rehearsal with our two new troupe members, then wrapped at noon so that hecubuscathead and I could go up to Indianapolis. celestemel had brought meddevi in for a weekend of workshops, and even though we couldn't go up for the show and workshops the day before, we made it up for the final workshop, "Twisted Turns and ( Read more... )

Friday night I played Bach's Cantata 106 ("Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit") in a concert at a local LDS church. It's such a lovely cantata, with two luscious swirly obbligato gamba parts. The concert wasn't bad considering that we had at best maybe 4 hours of rehearsal time, and only ever ran the entire piece once prior to the performance. ( Read more... )

  • This week in Flailing Like A Crazed Muppet

    rhiannon76 Feb 18, 2010 16:02

I had enough energy to go to African dance class last night. It was definitely needed-- moving and jumping and sweating and stomping and singing and rattling the ick out of my lungs and head. I wasn't the only sick one, it seemed, as quite a few of the other students were coughing and sniffling as well, and Harmony had a bit of a cold in addition ( Read more... )

Kind of headachey and tired today. My boss asked me to create an OCLC catalog record for a collection of recorded interviews we have (it's for a grant project)-- she already created most of the record in an Excel spreadsheet, but I have to put it into OCLC and do some of the fiddly bits (fixed fields, etc.) It's not that hard, but I'm trying to ( Read more... )
