Well, that fizzled a bit.
But still, at least the Grimm and the half-Royal bastard Prince are well on their way to working together to defeat their common enemy. I like that - especially since I assume we'll be getting some more answers soon. Renard will have to open up a little to ensure Nick's cooperation, after all.
And by giving Nick back the mysterious key, Renard has shown that he either genuinely does not have Evil Designs™, or that he is very cunning in carrying them out.* I'm fine with either choice, really.
Also, on a completely shallow note, nooooo to Renard's Wesen face. Okay, he's half Hexenbiest, and they're not exactly the beauty queens of the Wesen world. But should a half-Royal creature look like he stuck his face into a tub of unexpectedly hot gelatin capsules that fused with his skin?

* Who better to protect the key than a Grimm? Renard can always get the key back later, or have Nick use it in whatever way Renard wants him to. Or maybe the key Renard gave to Nick is a non-magical replica. Or…
