As for Angie's roles - well, she's gorgeous, of course, but she plays tough cop so damn well (lucky us).

Can you believe I still hadn't searched for Spanish info about R&I? I'm so absorbed by the original version that I just didn't think of it. Especially because I thought we still didn't have it in Spain. Turns out we do, in a not very well-known channel called Calle 13. I can't find at what time it airs or even if it's already over (which might probably be the case).

I didn't find many reviews. At least not very interesting ones (I blatantly ignored the ones that didn't acknowledge the chemistry between Sasha & Angie. How dare they? Who do they think they are?)

So, I found one by ¡Vaya Tele! that, for starters, has "R&I, conventional cases saved by a couple with great chemistry" as a title. I just love it. It's so gay. It basically says that the crime stuff kinda sucks (they specifically state that the finale got out of hand, LOL) and that what makes it worth watching is the relationship between the two protagonists. And, of course, a very famous Spanish lesbian website/community, Lesbicanarias, has even written recaps of each and every episode. They're quite funny.So I think I may need to detox or something, but right now I'm indulging my addiction to Google Translate, so I put the Lesbicanarias subtext review for the pilot into it and cracked myself up reading the English translation! The program actually seems better with Spanish than French or German, but still, some mistranslations and random gender shifts are quite funny, e.g

Ah, so that's what the reviewer meant!

Wow. So it really is saying that Angie Harmon looks *old*?! WTF indeed!

Oh, that makes much more sense. The other translation said something about Dean being an intermediary, but that didn't seem right either ...

Let's just continue to pretend Dean does not exist. *coughs*

Oh, another question: what should be the correction translation of the first sentence of the last paragraph: "Sasha Alexander versucht, etwas ruhiger in die Herzen der Zuschauer zu gelangen und schafft es mit den zarten Blicken der allwissenden Gerichtsmedizinerin nicht ganz, gegen die Präsenz von Harmon anzukommen."? Both English translation versions are hard for me to make sense of. Danke Schön!

Sasha's performance as an actor is not convincing because her inferior thespian abilities are constantly outshone by Harmon's stage presence.

In agreement with you both :-). I enjoy both their acting, but Sasha's skill for subtle gestures and nuance ought not be mistaken for lack of presence - blasphemy! She didn't get as much air-time on the pilot as AH did though, so that may have been a factor in how this reviewer formed their opinion.

I agree as well. And I also think that playing a character like Maura presents a greater challenge compared to playing someone like Jane. Based solely on R&I, Sasha's acting produces a broader range of emotions... whereas with Angie, I just recall the 'angry eyebrows' or 'concerned girlfriend' look 75% of the time.

Yeah, and I also remember several instances of panicked or shocked looks at the big reveals, e.g. "Marino is a bad guy!" or "Oh no, now the Irish mafia might be after Maura!". Angie did a good job with those, but I think they're kind of more dramatic emotions than a lot of what SA portrayed for Maura.
