I've really only been using this ridiculous thing to post about anime-type things, yes. I find it difficult to use it for its intended purpose when there are people who can actually read it nowadays - It's shameful how good I am at whining and expressing impotent outrage at percieved injustice. My life is dull, I am a shitty person, and I've ( Read more... )

yeah, I personally prefer my friends page low on personal info, so you won't be seeing me complain about that.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed zipang on the basis of it's complete and total lack of schoolgirls though, so I'm not sure that there really is the best thing ever. Azumanga daioh is a thing of wonder but afaik it's the exception to the rule.

I'm absolutely baffled as to what you are saying here as it seems you're using completely unlike terms. "This isn't that great because there is this other thing that isn't even tangentally related that is great?". Erm, okay. Yeah, I like things that don't involve schoolgirls as well. In fact, I like a lot of things. This just happens to have a great intro and ending, and the show seems pretty special at that. BEST EVER IS HYPERBOLE and I know that you've railed against us types using hyperbole, but I find it's the only adequate way to express my childish excitement through the internet-waves.

DESPERATELY TRYING TO HANG ON TO THE TATTERED SHREDS OF MY MASCULINITY HERE, IF YOU WERE TO FIND ANOTHER AZUMANGA DAIOH I MIGHT AS WELL JUST HAND IN MY TESTICLES RIGHT NOW.

zipang was the testosterone shot I didn't know I needed.

The intended purpose of LJ IS to post the dull shitty things in life and complain about stuff you think is wrong, or so I'm lead to believe. Well it's still better than the meme-sharing/meme-posting stuff.

Life being dull seems to be the case for most people really. It's just that now and then something may come along to make things interesting. Usually it's a pretty shitty thing though, eg. "I LOST A LEG ;_;"

When something exciting happens that isn't complete shit, well, it's just pure luck and being in the right place at the right time.

Don't be encouraged by my full page emo ranting! NO ONE CARES AND NO ONE READS IT. (Which ironically, no one caring kinda leads to me ranting more... jk)

If there are personal things you wish to post, let me know and I'll promise never to read your live journal again until further notice.
Though I admit I'd find it much more interesting than the video game and anime "blogging", for which I share absolutely no interest. So why do I continue to read it? I think it fits in somewhere with having no life of my own to speak of.

By the way... are there no more decent shows in town, or have I just fallen that far out of the loop? I could use a good pit about now.

Nah, not talking about anyone in particular, or just people near me, or whatever. I'd really only feel entirely comfortable writing about myself in a personal journal or whatever, but as far as I'm concerned I don't have a whole lot of use for writing down those sorts of things which are already up there in my brain if it's not somehow for others to read. Probably a bit too self conscious at the moment (and assholes like hentaikid up there don't help)

As far as shows, I have no idea. I'm so out of touch with anyone into that sort of thing now that I'm completely clueless as to when anything goes on around here. Are there even any tolerable bands left?

Well, there's AKU of course, only problem is that you NEVER PLAY ANY FUCKING SHOWS any more, leaving me to silently rock out to the videos of Monster Mash and More Bang for The Buck...
I heard that on Saturday the 29th SCK will be playing a show (details foggy) with Ian on bass and Rubby present (hurray old-school SCK!), unfortunately I work until 11:30 that night (as with seemingly all nights) and will not be present.
Being old sucks.

Well, I don't know how extant we are. I personally hold out hope, but I get a terrible, sinking feeling that my career in rock and roll is over.

SCK eh? Maybe I can corral someone into going with me. That would be pretty hot. Totally lamesauce that you can't go, though...

Tomorrow night, $7, The Well -
Sugar Coated Killers!
Helcion
Severed Serenity
Phoera

I'm bribing a co-worker to take the shift for me... It's at $35 + the 8 hours of overtime he'd get... he's still deliberating. If he says no, my boot will penetrate his ass up to my knee.

hmmm...
Phoera being there makes me feel horribly, horribly awkward. Goddammit.

Aw, Brandon! You should have showed! I got there at 11. I missed Phoera and probably a third of Severed Serenity. Helcion was great, and SCK... Well. Fuck. They rocked me with ALL the old songs. I could've used you in the pit, Phoera left right after their set, anyway. As I got there they were all pretty much on their ways.

Damn. I knew I probably should have gone. Maybe next time I'll have the balls to go regardless.
