Seventeen years have passed, and I don't feel much different.

Thanks to some close friends and family my birthday was probably one of the longest I've ever had. I was awake for so much of July 14th this year, it was pretty remarkable. Three different parties in one day, and Todai in between. Thanks to Benjamin I got to hangout in some pretty cool places and got to tie up one of the larger loose ends in my life.

Looking back at the past years, I have done quite a bit with my life in comparison to some other folks. I've seen a lot of live music, I've explored big cities, I've met some great people, and I've had experiences that I'll get to talk about for the rest of my life. Being seventeen hasn't really granted me any extra privileges (except being able to finally see R-Rated movies in theaters, haha) but it feels like this year is the beginning of something. At about two in the morning on July 15th of this year a man that I don't even remember the name of told me something that I think might be a prophecy of sorts. He said to me, "Keep this in mind, kid. You will learn more in the next five years of your life than you will ever. So stay sharp."

There might be something to that. We'll just have to wait and see.
