Alice watched the woman go, a frown forming a little crease in between her eyebrows. She wasn't really sure what had just happened. It was like being accosted by an Oompa Loompa; bizarre and inexplicable.
She turned to John. "That was very..." She sought for words, and settled on, "Star Trek." Brain-sharing? Well, okay. Alice wasn't sure she should take the woman's word for it, but John was from a universe where he battled aliens who could suck out your life force through their hands, so she couldn't rule out mind melds. Just like he couldn't rule out zombies in her universe.
"Should I ask?" She put her head on one side and smiled. One of the good things about her...relationship, for lack of a better word...with John was that questions weren't a neccesity. She didn't need to know every intimate detail of his past, just like he didn't need to know hers. Which was good, because a lot of it she still couldn't remember.
Didn't want to remember.
Whatever.
