Today we had a hydrochloric acid spill down the road from our house. We didn't have to evacuate, but I think some of the houses a bit further down the road may have had to. Traffic was, however backed up a bit since the highway our house is on is a pretty major one, and the detour around the spill started right in front of the house. Traveling ( Read more... )

I'm only going to be working on Tuesday and Thursday nights this time around - Mondays are out because there weren't enough kids signed up this cycle, so there will only be one or two classes going on. Dustin and I just spend the last hour and a half moving all his ex-roommate's stuff down to the basement. The man only spent the equivalent of two months actually sleeping here, yet his entire closet was filled with clothes (same size as my closet - about three feet deep and maybe eight feet long), he had at least one (possibly more) dresser ( Read more... )

Last night Dustin had a cookout and invited a few of his friends over. We had chicken and chips (and brats for everyone else) and yummy pretzel dip that I made and played with fire a lot. Twas much fun.

Kaza is busy bating at my fingers as they type on the keyboard. It is probably one of the most adorable things ever. Especially since these cats are so sweet that they know not to use claws when playing with their humans. Or, well, usually at least. Sometimes they slip up ( Read more... )

Last night Dustin and Mandy had a bonfire and invited a bunch of their friends over for cheese and wine. I went out and joined them for about two or three hours. I didn't talk much, but it was still fun listening to them swap stories. Also, cheese and crackers = yummy. And I roasted a marshmallow for old time's sake.

Came home to get my mail and stuff, and figured a night away from the rumbling of trucks all night long on the highway would be welcome. The new place is right on a busy highway. It's pretty quiet down stairs, and not too bad up in my room, either, but you can still hear traffic passing outside. I've mostly gotten used to it, but the tanker ( Read more... )
