Riverfront Rendezvous Concert - Northern Room and The BoDeans

Point is having it's 150 Year Celebration this year, and Riverfront Rendezvous is Point's version of Dairy Fest, so to speak. Started last night and goes through Sunday, and because it's year 150, they got a few bigger names and a few more activities that interest me even in the slightest.

Last night was one of them, in which I went to a concert at the park with Dustin, Mandy, Steve, and Lisa and her sister, Laura. Rod was there too; he's Laura's hubby, and JB showed up maybe an hour before we headed out. The BoDeans (sp?) were the main attraction, who are apparently a big country-sorta band. I had never heard of them, but I and everyone else in the world has heard their song Closer to Free (random video I found on YouTube cause I couldn't find the actual music video). I could've taken or left them, but I really liked their opening band, Northern Room, to the point where I would've went and got their CD if we had gotten to the tent sooner. Mandy and I got there just as they were playing their last few songs, and I didn't have the inclination to weave my way through the crowd, which was rather huge and we were on the opposite side of the park from the sales tents. I still might see if i can buy a copy online once I actually have, you know, *money* to spend. It probably won't be all that hard to find them in concert again since the band originated in Milwaukee and they have concert dates all over the state.

Also, there will be pictures! In fact, Northern Room will probably be featured in most of them because by the time the BoDeans came on, it was too dark for my camera to focus on them from our position pretty much right in the middle and slightly too the left in the crowd. I did get some cool motion artifacts of the stage, though. :)

That said, I'm off to Ripon to visit the family on my mom's side. I hope they like Cajun dip, cause wow did I make way too much.

Happy Independence Day to those in the US, and Happy Friday to everyone else!
