Had a productive morning, and it's still an hour before noon! (Well, half an hour, but it was a whole one when I started writing this.)
First - unburied the car; it had been lightly snowing pretty much non-stop for two days, only letting up this morning not long after I got up. And then by the time I was on my way out to the car, the morning sun was peeking through the clouds and tiny ice particles being blown around by the wind were all sparkly. Not a bad way to start the morning, even if I did still have to unbury my car.
Second - hair cut! Had a $6.99 coupon, so even better. My hair hadn't been professionally cut in at least a year, and the ends were very very fried. Took about five inches off and my hair feels much softer and smoother for it. Also, it was getting so long that even minus five inches, it looks pretty much the same from the front, and from the back it just looks less straggly. Beaution (sp?) forgot to give me my change from a $10, and I had also already left her a $2 tip, so I suppose it was still a $12 hair cut even with the coupon, but hey, I just got paid and she was very friendly and chatty, so no big loss. And getting a $5 tip on a $7 hair cut probably made her day.
Third - COFFEE! From my favorite local coffee shop. Because I could. Mmm, cocoa latte.
Forth - hit up ShopKo to return a few things, even though I don't work at all today (yay!). First was a bra - based on
wowomom's revelation from a few weeks ago where she found out her cup size was twice as big as she thought it was, and her success in finding some nice bras that ACTUALLY FIT, HOLY COW, I decided that maybe I had been wearing a cup size or two too small these last 15 years as well. Since ShopKo was having a sale - buy two, get one free - I thought "Hey, why not."
So I picked up three 38 Cs, instead of the 38 Bs I normally would've gotten. Looking at them, I admit, I was skeptical. My first reaction looking at the cups pretty much consisted of "Do I really have enough boob to fill those suckers?" But I tried anyway, picked up three different brands of the same price, and brought them home to try on. If they didn't fit, I could always return them and go back to the Bs.
First one didn't work out. Too many hooks in the back, and even with the shoulder straps extended as far as they would go, they still weren't long enough to fit comfortably over my crazy broad shoulders, not to mention it fit uncomfortably tight across my rib-cage. The second one, however, got a far far more promising reaction, which went something like "Oh my god, where have you been all my life!?" Yes, in fact, I did have enough boob to fill the cups, AND the fit was so nice it may even qualify as being the most comfortable bra I've ever owned at this point. It's also a nice light blue color, which is a refreshing change from the usual black or skin-tone. Third wasn't quite as comfy, but it still fit pretty well. It's getting a trial run today, and also, it is dark purple with some lace, so hurrah, I now have what may qualify as sexy underwear! Or at least a sexy(er) bra.
Other return was the MP3 player I got a few weeks back. My immediate distrust never faded, and the poor reviews I found for it online didn't help any, so rather than wait for the inevitable failure (most of the reviews claimed that it stopped charging/staying charged after the first two or three uses), I decided to just return it while brand new and functioning and get cash back.
Fifth - Groceries. Spent more than I had hoped to spend, but it was (almost) all stuff we needed.
And I did it all without crashing into another car or causing any property damage, despite the slushy still-getting-plowed roads! I call that a veritable success. :D
