Instead of going out, I decided to treat Gramma to a Disney/Pixar movie marathon. First up was How to Train Your Dragon, followed after a brief intermission by Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (which she really enjoyed!). That brought us to 11 pm, which we both agreed is close enough (midnight in New York, that totally counts!) and called it night.

Only thing that would've made it more awesome is if Gramma's big screen TV didn't suck so much and actually allowed for proper DVD set up, which it apparently does not. It doesn't seem to have a Video inlet (you know those yellow, white, and red plugs they come with? Yeah, no yellow plug-in), and though there may be some special audio hook up, I didn't have the proper cord to do so. First DVD player would only play in black and white, the second attempt I couldn't even manage to get a signal (and it's my own DVD player that I use in my room, so I know for a fact it works), and the third (brand freaking new, I literally went out and bought it when the other two failed) allowed for a color picture, but no audio. So we ended up watching everything on her lap top instead. Take what victories you can, I suppose.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

(Sparkly text brought to you by http://simcatsubame.livejournal.com/1299.html, which is awesome. Thank you sicatsubame, whoever you are!)
