I slept with my window open last night. On March 18th. In Wisconsin. I don't recall that ever happening before.
Not even officially springtime, and we had a high of 80 degrees yesterday. Hellooooo climate change. Also, who wants to bet we'll still get a snow storm beginning of April?
In sort of related news, I have a Project for myself this summer. I want to turn our old barn foundation into a shade garden or something similar.

Once the leaves come in, the area will be partial to full shade. The ground is also dirt-covered cement for the most part, so my hope is to stick to low-growing succulents and ground cover, with a few flowery additions here and there, and as many vines as I can get to grow. Moss, too, if I can manage to maintain the moisture needed to encourage it to keep growing. I think most (if not all) the trees are box elders, too, so I wouldn't be opposed to cutting a few down.
So, any of you gardener types on my friends list... um... Help? Because what I know about gardening might be able to fill thimble, but there would probably be space to spare. According to
Garden Helper, it looks like we're on the edge of plant hardiness zone 4 and 5, and that's about all I can give you.
