lazy fall days

Since my last entry quite alot has happened. I've been to a political rally for the green party issues, attended an activism talk by Julia Butterfly (the girl that lived in a tree in California, or Oregon for awhile), and I've now not only been to but also ridden in an Autocross event, thanks to Dan, a new friend of mine with a bright yellow mustang. For those of you that need clarification on what exactly an Autocross is, it involves driving as fast as you can around a course laid out by cones. I'd say I'm maintaining my well roundedness quite well these days. Halloween was great. I went to Calli & Mike's (ultimate frisbee people) circus-themed even dressed in doll-ish attire as the lady that gets knives thrown at her only tragically, one missed, or should I say was a direct hit. To my disappointment, I failed to win the $140 pot they offered for the best costume. I have been indulging in my new digital camera which I love so far and taking lots of pics of the amazing foliage. This lazy, warm fall has provided us with ample time to view the spectacular fall colors. I suppose it's down to business now. I definitely had my winter jacket out last night as a few flakes of that white stuff floated around in the night air.

In spite of a popped splint and bit of eye puffiness/teariness, Reno is doing well. He is glad the hot days of August are in the past. I on the other hand can't wait until the blooms are returning on the trees and we start climbing back up into 70-80 degree weather. I suppose I have awhile to wait. Sigh...

In spite of much laboring over whether to play ultimate frisbee or not this winter, I was given an offer I can't refuse. So I will be starting back up with indoor ultimate frisbee on Nov. 30th.

A question I've been pondering: Do you find the things you are looking for in life when you are ready for them or when you are not looking? As I finally am in a place where I am not hounded by the bigger questions of life, all of the sudden they seem to be finding answers on their own.
