Egyptian Cotton Sheets

Ok, so Ann was harping on me to update more but I really feel like my life is pretty lame these days- too lame in fact to make you all sit through recaps. However, since Andrea and Maddie have done recaps of their year I suppose I will be a big fat copy cat and do the same. Aren't you all excited? Woohoo (but not an operatic Woohoo)!

January: Started the year at Matt and Lisa's, running around outside like maniacs with Kristin, Max, Mom and Aunt Judy (who mooned us, as always). I have a really fond memory of how hard Kristin laughed at us that night, and it makes me smile:) Then we continued to act like maniacs inside, dancing to all the crap country songs we used to be forced to listen to upnorth. I love my family, clearly way too much. I spent part of the month in (gulp) Ohio with (double gulp) the Griggs. I totally had forgotten that that happened. I also started grad school at Wayne. Yay!

February: Hmm, did anything happen besides school? This is off to an exciting start, don't you think? Oh, I think pop concert was this month which meant Max blowing us all away and Mandy coming home for a bit. Also, developed an inappropriate crush on my pastor (Can you blame me?) and started attending my small group.

March: I turned way too old but did it in style with Maddie and all of our friends coming over. This started the weeks long period of eating nothing but english muffin pizzas. We really know how to beat a dead horse into the ground. Went with family to Florida, fun times making my Dad insane with rage whilst shoved into the back of the PT with both Max and Kate (shudder). Katie and I spend waaay too much time at the Atlanta airport after getting bumped, which would later allow me to take a fateful trip...

April: Finish first Semester of Grad school with a 4.0. LEAVE GAYLES! WOOOOOOO! Havent been back since!

May: Um....sat for Charlie a lot. Began my slow decline into Hanson fandom. School. Still no Gayles.

June: Met the MacAtamneys. Spend way too much of summer discussing Napolean Dynamite, Josh Groban, appropriate colors for boys to like, and all time sleeping in records. Also begin sitting for Boos kids during the day. Dark, dark weeks of boredom ahead.

July: Spend most of month sitting by pool reading while kids swim. Love new job. Read entire Potter series before Book 6. Sit in Borders for 16 hours, meet Bill, awesome kids, on the news, find glorious world of mystery novels, and get book first. Read it in one night with shotty contacts and terrible headache. Nearly have nervous breakdown while Andrea and Mich are away.

August: Spend many, many hours walking around Berkley after 2 am with Andrea. Go upnorth with girls, have great time at Mackinaw. Pretend we are in the 2nd task and the thing we would miss most is at bottom of Lake 15. Thrilled by the possibilities. Become waay too into Hanson. Get nose pierced and cute new haircut. Find HP music videos and Harry and the Potter in attempts to deal with Book 6. Am way too silly and have way too much fun and decide in no way do I want to start dating any time soon, if ever. In fact, choose to never grow up, if can help it.

September: Spend Memorial weekend holed up with Ann and Maddie watching pretty much all the Hanson that Maddie owns. Eyes shut down in protest. Worst semester of school starts. NHL preseason starts- first Wings game in more than a year! Help to run Art in the Park for church and have a great time.

October: Plan follow the bus. Lose bed to Sammie and spend months on the coffee table and on the floor. Become incredibly lazy and unmotivated for weeks and weeks. Watch WAY too much UALive. Get new job with the family of one of my favorite hockey players of all time saving me from returning to Gayles any time soon! See White Stripes at Masonic with Ann and Pa Scobes.

November: Stand in line for 44 hours, ride a bus for 45 hours, nearly die at least 4 times, travel over 1500 miles, make 8 Hanson related buttons, see 8 opening bands, see Hanson 6 times, see In A Way preformed 5 times, visit waay too many states, many in the middle of the night, meet 2 convicts, meet at least 3 actual good fans, meet innumerable awful fans, ride on one bus which catches on fire and many, many buses that do not, get one phone call from Maddie informing us that her plane is on fire, spend more than six hours in plane stations (heh), get a hold of at least 3 pretty good unreleased songs and waay to many terrible unreleased songs, become obsessed with Pat McGee and see one Mariachi band.

December: Medicine makes me sick and crazy and most likely a joy to be around. Pie day, birdhouses, trying to make up for November school wise, finals, Christmas presents, decorate two trees, song Hallelujah chorus for the last time ever at DHS, catch up with Jeff, make tons of Christmas CDs in a vain attempt to get over November and into the season, learn to make eggnog, have great holiday dinner with friends, make Maddie the Ike quilt, Star Wars Holiday Special, Christmas Eve Eve, Steve smug marries us at church, wonderful Christmas Eve and day with the fam, new iPod (So small, yet still so proud), a whole week to sleep in, the prospect of new Uggs, Family Christmas is my favorite day of the season. End the year in my Mom's house banging pots and pans and seeing Aunt Judy's bare ass yet again, nicely finishing the cycle.

Some year huh? I'd like to say this is the year I get my crap together, lose weight, sort out my money, do well in school, keep my house clean, etc. etc. but I think I know myself and my patterns a bit too well. Oh well, at least I'll have fun, right?:)
