This is a line from the song 「降臨する王者」that I really like:
これからは無敗、
どこまでも無敗!
プライド高き我らは
降臨する王者!
I translated it as this:
From now on, there will be no defeat
No matter where we go, there will be no defeat
We, with our prides high,
are the Advent of the Kings!
I translated "降臨する王者" as "Advent of the Kings", because the best word to describe 降臨 is "Advent" (the arrival of someone/something important), which does not have a verbal form in English. If there was an English word for it, the line would translate into something like:
"We, with our prides high,
are the Kings that are Advent-ing"
Which does not sound as fluent as "Advent of the Kings" (plus, it hasn't got the awesomeness~). Also with 「プライド高き我らは」, I decided to switch the "高き" around to go after the subject (我ら) when translating:
"We, with our prides high"
Rather than:
"We, with our high prides"
I can't think of a better word to use for "高き". There must be a better word to describe one with great pride, but the most faithful translation would be to use "high".
Anyway, this is what I randomly muse about at 3am in the morning when I'm listening to songs I like XD
