So, my eyes get itchy sometimes. They were like that today, in fact XP I bought some Visine earlier this week so I decided to try it out and see if it could help. I had an eye infection a couple years ago which was the first time I ever used eye drops, but I remembered it being a pain in the ass so I was very careful to line up the dropper with my eye and PLOP! It lands on my cheek. I think, wtf? And I try it again. PLOP! Cheek.
Then I realized I didn't have my head tilted back at all. Man I am a fucktard.
I took business management in high school when I was a junior. I dressed like I walked out of a Tim Burton movie and carried a stuffed lion (
Mr. Lion) in my purse with his head sticking out.
Well one day we were talking about the junior career fair, which is a pretty big event and takes up a this huge event center in town and all the high schools bring busloads of kids and a lot of businesses and colleges take it as a great way to recruit lots of little minions. You're required to go in with a resume and the odds of you getting hired somewhere are actually pretty good.
As we're talking about this, our teacher (who was an ass, but that's another issue) is telling us how not to dress in that typical retarded I-don't-really-know-what's-acceptable-so-everything's-bad-except-suits kind of way, and he looks right at me and says "And no STUFFED ANIMALS or BIG BOOTS or anything stupid like that."
I take offense to this. For starters, he did it in a rude-ass way, but also he's acting like I clearly don't know how to change clothes. So I say, "What makes you think that I can't dress nicely when I need to? I'm not stupid, I can change clothes." He looked surprised and said you never know.
It wasn't a very long time after that I stopped wearing those clothes. It was that and a lot of other things that made me really hate the image it put off that I didn't even know it had. I just liked skirts and stockings and boots and lace and stuff, I didn't realize what a strong message that put off. I lived in AUSTIN, FFS, it's not like people don't dress strangely there in the first place. But something about the standard weird Austin and my weird were different. Now I don't know how to dress myself at all :(
In other news, I finally got a space heater. HOORAY! Now maybe my hands won't go numb if I'm at my computer for too long.
