I suppose it hits me, somewhere around noon, the sounds of John on the phone with his son in the background. I'm RSSing feeds from newssites and the whole world's just sort of collapsing at once. Floods in North Korea. Tsunamis and earthquakes in Java. Missiles and guns in Israel, Lebanon. Nuke testing in Russia. Civil war and famine in Uganda, the Sudan, Darfur. Its so hot in Europe that pavements are literally melting and walkers are dying. I'm reading all these headlines, one after the other, and it just...out of nowhere fucking hits me.
