Chapter 16
Kame and Pi’s apartment
Kazuya was busy preparing for Jin’s favourite food that he’ll bring with him when he sleeps over at the latter’s hospital room tonight when a familiar voice stopped him from what he’s doing
“HEY TADAIMA‼!” Yamapi shouted happily as he quickly gave Kazuya a kiss on the cheek
It’s been a week since Kazuya lost contact with Yamapi, and seeing him right now with a happy face makes him hate the other guy more
“Hey baby what’s with the frown? Sorry I was away on a…”
“Business trip, I know…your workers told me…” Kame answered sarcastically
“Hey if you’re mad that I didn’t call you…well I did tell you I was going to be busy right?”
“Busy enough for you not to know what happened to your best friends?”
“B-Best friends? Jin? Yuna? Ryo? Why??! What happened?” Yamapi asked, panic obvious from his voice
“You really didn’t know?! FUCK PI‼! I can forgive you ignoring me for the whole year..or even forever, but I can’t forgive you not being there when your friends needed you the most!” Tears flow down from Kame’s eyes
“I don’t understand…”
“Yuna died. She met an accident with Jin and only Jin and their baby survived…”
“I…”
“He needed you…even Ryo needed you…but you weren’t there!”
“Kame I’m sorry…”
“Don’t apologize to me..like I said…I don’t care if you ignore me forever…” Kame said as he walked away. “He’s in Tokyo Private Hospital Room 1406…”
When Kazuya entered the room, he saw Jin staring at his little girl
“Jin”
“Ah Kazuya…”
“How are you feeling?” The younger one asked as he approached the older one
“I’m ok I guess. Hey the doctor said Rina is getting stronger everyday…” Jin smiled as he held his baby’s little hand
“I know she would be…” Kame smiled “Hey I brought you sushi by the way…”
“Really? Thanks! Their food here sucks…” Jin said as he let go of his baby’s hand and took the food from the table. As Jin was about to eat, he noticed Kazuya staring at Rina lovingly
“She’s beautiful…”
“You want to hold her hand?” Jin asked
“Eh?”
“Go ahead…hold her hand…”
“Thank you…” Kame whispered as he held on Rina’s little finger
The baby responded by giving a slight smile, which didn’t go unnoticed from the two men
“She likes you…” Jin said with a smile on his face
“I like her too…” Kame smiled
Jin was about to approach the younger man when a voice interrupted them
“J-Jin…” Yamapi called
“Pi?”
Kame stared at Yamapi. He knew that he would come, but didn’t know it’ll be this fast.
“Jin I am so sorry…” Pi cried as he hug Jin tight “I am so sorry please forgive me…”
“Hey it’s alright Pi…I understand…” Jin said as he tried comforting Yamapi by soothing the latter’s back
“Funny how I should be the one comforting you, but here you are comforting me instead…” Pi said as he let go of the hug and wipe his tears
“It’s alright…Kazuya was here…he helped me…us…a lot…” Jin smiled
Yamapi cried some more as he hug Jin. Kazuya felt like he shouldn’t be there so he decided to leave the two friends for a while. As he was waiting in the cafeteria, he noticed one guy that he thinks he saw working with Yamapi in the office. He decided to ignore it and simply drank his coffee slowly
Moments later he saw Yamapi walking in the cafeteria. Just as when he was about to stand up and call his name, he saw Yamapi hugging that person (The one he thought he saw working at his husband’s office).
“Well hugging is a friendly gesture…” Kazuya thought
He was about to approach then when he overheard their conversation
“I didn’t even know…” Yamapi cried as he held on Toma’s hand
“It’s not your fault…maybe it’s mine…for asking you to stay with me…”
“No please don’t blame yourself…I should’ve left my cell phone open, but I didn’t…”
“I’m sorry for what happened…but I’m here love…I’ll always be here for you ok…”
“Thank you Toma…I love you…” Yamapi said as he kissed Toma fully on the lips
After Kazuya saw everything, he ran back to Jin’s room. Again, he found Jin watching his daughter
“Oh hey…Yamapi just left…Kazuya I think you should follow him…I think he will need your comfort…” Jin said
Kazuya didn’t say anything, instead he sat beside Jin and stared at Rina
“Are you ok?” Jin asked
“Let me stay here please…” Kazuya begged, still looking at Rina
“Of course I’ll let you stay here, but I just thought that…” Jin couldn’t finish his sentence for Kame hugged him tight
“Maybe I’m getting my karma now Jin….” Kazuya cried “What? what happened”
Kazuya knows that Jin is sensitive since the death of Yuna, wishing not to bother the older one’s thoughts he decided not to share what he saw.
“Nothing…”
“Come on you can tell me anything…”
“Just…just let me stay with you..let me remain as part of your life…”
“Kazu…you have been and will always be a part…no a special part of my life…” Jin said
“Thank you…” Kazuya said as he hugged Jin tighter
This Christmas season, Kazuya finally understood, that in his heart, it will always be Jin. As they watch the Christmas lights outside the window, their bodies served as warmth for each other. Jin finally understand that Kazuya will be the only person that can warm his heart…
