Why I Love It: It's my prompt, part two! Set pre-Guardians of the Galaxy, in the space between the end of Thor and the beginning of The Avengers, Buffy and Loki and Faith are all caught in Thanos' grasp. Faith is broken and Buffy is broken and Loki is breaking under their hands - or at least, that's the intention. Maybe Loki breaks Buffy, instead. I love how there's all this potential, here - Buffy's future lies ahead of her, and the chance that she might leave Thanos' teachings; Loki's future is set in motion by his own reactions to Thanos' care; Faith's future is intertwined with Buffy's, whether she likes it or not. Everyone's so BROKEN, but there are little glimmers of.... not joy, just LESS brokennes in the face of reality? Yeah, they nearly shine compared to the rest. Plus, Buffy and Loki interacting! The way their respective preferential torture methods describes their characters so well - Faith goes straight for the blunt-sharp-hot-cold-loud to make an impression, while Buffy's approach is more sublte and emotionally compromising. I love my favorite good guys in extraordinarily dark AUs, I really do.

This story was written as a sequel to Sister Self, but takes place as more of a prequel, timeline-wise. There's also some art, and a fanmix! Check those out, too - this 'verse is awesome, and deserves all the love.
