Why I Love It: I only know how to knit rectangular pieces (or tubes, which are perpetual rectancles, pretty much), but Sulu's joy is so catching in this story that I wish I knew how to knit other shapes - like triangles! Or things with corners! Kirk's outside perspective on his friend's fiber-arts enthusiasm is the kind of chipper asshole-ishness that the good captain's so good at, and there's a series of really happy moments, all through the fic, of Sulu slowly bringing his indifferent crewmates into the knit-appreciation club. But mostly, it's a really happy fic full of my own interests - so obviously I needed to podfic it. And now there's another item for knight_tracer's Knitting Podfic Playlist :D
